Team Kelsey helped light up the night for those battling blood cancers
Thousands of Houstonians gathered in Hermann Square Park at City Hall on Oct. 27 to light the night for the 19th annual Light the Night Walk in Houston. The walk benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help find a cure for blood cancer.
A 53-member Team Kelsey contingent participated in this year’s walk. Each participant was provided with an illuminated lantern to hold during the walk. Red represented support for the cause, white was carried by survivors, and gold represented those who have been lost to blood cancers.
In all, 7,000 people turned out to show their support, raising more than $1 million to help fund research and support programs for families affected by blood cancer. Kelsey-Seybold, always among the top corporate fundraising teams, has so far raised $10,456.90 (make a donation through Nov. 30).
The Houston 1-mile walk was preceded by the Montgomery County Light the Night Walk, held on Oct. 14 at Tom Green Park in The Woodlands.
