Palliative Care
Helping to improve quality of life for families and individuals living with serious illnesses
Kelsey-Seybold’s Palliative Care program is specialized medical care for individuals with serious illnesses. It focuses on providing patients with relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness. The goal: improve the quality of life for the individual and family.
Our Palliative Care team of doctors, nurses, social workers, and other specialists work together with the patient’s primary care doctor and specialists to provide an added layer of support. The team’s focus is on enhancing symptom control, care coordination, management of disease progression, and quality of life.
Palliative Care is appropriate for patients at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and may be provided along with curative treatment. It's not hospice care, which deals with end-of-life care. Patients seen by the Kelsey-Seybold team are often also receiving treatments designed to fight the serious illness or injury.
