Dr. Michael MacKelvie graduated magna cum laude from Oklahoma State University followed by completing his medical degree in 2014 from Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, where he earned his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree. He completed his residency in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences in 2018 at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where he was Administrative Chief Resident from 2017 to 2018.
Dr. MacKelvie holds several licenses and certifications including: da Vinci® Surgical System training; NEXPLANNON® (etonogestrol implant) training; neonatal resuscitation; cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).

Hobbies & Interests
Dr. MacKelvie enjoys numerous outdoor activities, such as golf, running marathons and triathlons, hiking, and skiing. He has two dogs and likes traveling and medical missions. He's an avid basketball player, but enjoys all sports, as well as trivia, music concerts, and cooking.
Fun Facts
Dr. MacKelvie has camped out on the banks of the Dulce River in Guatemala, sailed around the islands of Croatia, and visited the Castle of Edinburg in Scotland, among other adventures.
Many people don't know this about Dr. MacKelvie, but he grew up line dancing and also has Texas two-step experience. He's also been skydiving multiple time s and qualified for the Boston Marathon. His favorite artist is the rock band Kings of Leon.
As a child, he dreamed of becoming a professional basketball player or NBA head coach, and says he's still awaiting the phone call.
