Dzifaa Lotsu, MD, MPH, is a gastroenterologist who completed his medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine in 2007. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in 2010, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2013. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and joined Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in December 2023.

As a gastroenterologist, Dr. Lotsu cares for patients with a variety of gastrointestinal concerns and conditions. These can include ulcers, heartburn, rectal bleeding, irritable bowel syndrome, swallowing difficulties, hemorrhoids, food reactions and more. He also works with patients on screening for colorectal cancer.

  • June 2008-June 2010. Worked on retrospective study analyzing outcome of patients with cirrhosis receiving Hepatorenal syndrome cocktail: Midodrine, Octreotide, and Albumin under Daniel Ganger, MD Division of Hepatology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois
  • Performed microsurgery, organized, and analyzed data in laboratory which dealt with mammalian forebrain development in rodents. Used computerized mapping model to follow development of forebrain under Christopher B. Reid MD, PhD in Neuroscience and Pharmacology Department at F. Herbert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services at Bethesda, Maryland.

Hobbies & Interests
